Now, a mobile app for booking cancelled and unreserved Railway tickets

The new app “utsonmobile” which has been developed by the Centre for Railway Information System (CRIS) is available for both Android and Windows smartphones; this app can be downloaded from Google Play Store or Windows store free of cost

The Hush Post: A new app has been introduced by the Indian Railways for booking the tickets that had been cancelled and unreserved tickets of various trains.

The new Railways app enables booking and cancellation of unreserved tickets among several other facilities.

The Ministry of Railways said in a statement that the new app will also enable issue and renewal of season and platform tickets, check and load R-wallet balance and help maintain user profile management and booking history, a report said.

The new app “utsonmobile” has been developed by the Centre for Railway Information System (CRIS) and it is available for both Android and Windows smartphones. This app can be downloaded free from Google Play Store or Windows store.

“First the passenger will get registered by providing his/her mobile number, name, city, default booking train type, class, ticket type, number of passengers and frequently travelling routes. Upon successful registration, Railway Wallet (R-Wallet) will be created automatically with zero balance to the passenger. There will be no extra cost for creating R-Wallet,” the ministry statement read.

The R-Wallet can be recharged either at any of the UTS counter or through recharge option available in the https://www.utsonmobile.indianrail.gov.in website, the report said.

No advance ticket booking is allowed since the app is only for unreserved tickets.

“The passenger can travel without taking a hard copy of the ticket. Whenever ticket checking staff asks for the ticket, the passenger will use ‘Show Ticket’ option in the app,” the Railways statement said.
