Rohit Shekhar Tiwari, son of late Congress leader Narayan Dutt Tiwari, today passed away under mysterious circumstances in Delhi. The doctors declared him brought dead at the Max Saket Hospital. Initial reports suggest Rohit might have suffered a heart attack; however, the doctors are yet to verify the reasons.
Reports say he was rushed to the hospital in the afternoon after his nose started bleeding. Rohit suffered from an heart ailment.
Confirming his death, DCP South Delhi Vijay Kumar said, “Rohit Shekhar Tiwari, son of late former Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand CM ND Tiwari, has been brought dead to Max Saket hospital. Further details are awaited.”
Rohit Shekhar married to Apurva Shukla from Indore in Madhya Pradesh in May last year. Apurva was a practicing lawyer at the Supreme Court then.
Rohit Shekhar had joined the BJP in January 2017 along with ND Tiwari.
SIX-YEAR-LONG LEGAL BATTLE
Notably, Rohit Shekhar had fought a six-year-long legal battle to prove that he was the son of former UP and Uttarakhant CM ND Tiwari’s son. ND Tiwari maintained that Rohit was not his son and had even refused to give his blood sample for a DNA test in 2012. He, however, relented later.
The Delhi High Court declared ND Tiwari as the biological father of Rohit Shekhar in 2014 after the former AP Governor accepted that he was indeed his son.
The same year, ND Tiwari, aged 88, had married Rohit Shekhar Tiwari’s mother. ND Tiwari passed away in October 2018.
