A report in The Times of India on Saturday has done a detailed comparison of Rajdhani Express train and economy flight fares from Delhi to major cities of different states and it shows that flights are usually cheaper if you book tickets at least a month in advance. Take, for example, a journey from Delhi to Chennai somewhere in August 2018.
If you opt to take a train ride, it would cost you Rs 4,270. On the other hand, an air journey would prove less expensive-Rs 3,616. Here’s a look:-
