The Hush Post: A spat over choice of a song to be played on DJ turned violent during a party at a bar in Punjabi Bagh locality in Delhi on Sunday. In this brawl, a gym trainer was stabbed to death on this petty issue. The police have arrested a man who was working as a DJ in that bar.
The gym trainer, identified as a 24-year-old youth Vijaydeep was stabbed to death allegedly by some employees of the bar, including a DJ, on Sunday night. The cause of the incident is stated to be over the choice of a song to be played on DJ, The Indian Express reported on Monday.
According to Vijay Kamal, DCP of Delhi West the police have arrested one Deepak Bisht, a DJ working in the Raftaar Bar, and seized a butter knife, allegedly used to stab the victim. The cops said one Ishu Sondh had thrown his birthday party for eight to nine of his friends at that bar on Sunday night. All were dancing on the third floor while the song was being played by DJ Deepak.
“In the meantime, one of the friends of Sondh, Vijaydeep went upstairs and requested the DJ to change the track. An argument soon ensued between Vijaydeep and Deepak. Later, more people joined from both the sides and Vijaydeep was stabbed with a butter knife,” a cop was quoted as saying.
A call was made to Police Control Room (PCR) on Sunday midnight and a police team took Vijaydeep to hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead. The cops said a female friend of Sondh also sustained injuries in her head after a piece of a broken glass hit her during the scuffle. The injured woman is recuperating in a hospital, the cops reportedly said.
The cops are now grilling the staff members of the bar and friends of Vijaydeep to establish their role in the crime. Vijaydeep lived in Tilak Nagar with his family and was a gym trainer by profession. Deepak is a resident of Uttarakhand and lives in Sant Nagar area of Burari.
