Police said the accused woman got her husband and his brother killed by her paramour when they objected to her extramarital affair
The Hush Post: The Delhi Police have arrested a woman and her paramour in connection with the murders of her husband and brother-in-law. While woman’s paramour had killed her husband last year, her brother-in-law met the same fate last Saturday. The woman was arrested on Monday after the arrest of her paramour.
The 26-year-old woman was arrested on Monday morning for her brother-in-law’s murder committed in Ghazipur locality of East Delhi on Saturday.
The accused woman’s paramour has also been arrested. The Delhi Police said the woman had got her husband and his brother killed from her paramour when they objected to her affair with her lover, a report said.
The accused woman has been identified as Pooja Kumar (26) and her 29-year-old paramour Mohit Bhati, a native of Dadri in Uttar Pradesh.
According to the police official the woman’s connivance with Bhati came to light on Saturday when Manoj Kumar, Pooja’s brother-in-law, a native of East Delhi’s Ghazipur, who had gone to get water from a nearby locality, was found dead under mysterious circumstances, the report said.
“Following surveillance and probe, information was received about a suspect who had shot Manoj. A trap was laid in Dadri near the suspect’s house and he was apprehended. On interrogation, he disclosed his identity and confessed to having murdered Manoj Kumar. A country-made pistol was recovered from him,” Pankaj Kumar Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP)(East) was quoted as saying in the report.
Mohit Bhati was also found to be involved in the murder of Manoj’s brother Mukesh in Dadri.
“Bhati said he became friends with Mukesh as they were neighbours. Bhati soon befriended Mukesh’s wife Pooja and developed an intimacy with her. Within months, Mukesh came to know about his wife’s extramarital affair with Bhati and started abusing her. Pooja complained about this to Bhati, who killed Mukesh and threw his body on the railway tracks in Dadri,” DCP Pankaj Kumar Singh was further quoted.
A missing report was lodged by Mukesh’s family at the Dadri police station and the case was being probed by the Uttar Pradesh Police.
Mohit Bhati has confessed before the police that after Mukesh’s death last year, his wife Pooja started living with Mukesh’s brother Manoj in Delhi. “Bhati said he often used to visit Manoj’s house to meet Pooja, to which he had objected. She again complained to Bhati about Manoj’s behaviour and the duo planned to kill him. Bhati said he shot Manoj dead after Pooja tipped him off about the victim’s location on Saturday,” the officer said.
After Bhati’s disclosures, Pooja was arrested on Monday morning.
