Dates for JEE, NET and NEET announced; test practice centres set up for students of rural areas

Exams to be held under the new examination body NTA for the first time 

The Hush Post: With entrance exams being held twice a year announcement earlier this year, the dates for entrance exams like JEE, NEET, UGC NET for the year 2018-2019 have been announced.

UGC NET: Registration dates: Sept 1-30; Date of exam: Dec 9-23; Results: Jan 10

JEE Main I: Registration dates: Set 1-30; Date of exam: Jan 6-20, 2019; Results: Jan 31

CMAT & GPAT: Registration dates: Nov 1-30, 2018; Date of exam: Jan 28;  Results: Feb 10,2019

NEET (UG): Registration dates: Nov 1-30; Date of exam: May 5, 2019;  Results: June 5 , 2019

JEE Main II: Registration dates: Feb 8-March 7;  Date of exam: April 1-20; Results: April 30

Test practice centres (TPCs) for students of rural areas have been set up free of cost which will start functioning from September 1 every Saturday and Sunday at different engineering colleges, government schools and computer centres. A mobile app is also being developed to get students self registered at the nearest TPC, Director General NTA, Vineet Joshi told media persons.net

All the exams will be computer based, except the NEET Medical and dental college exams which will be pen and paper based and will be conducted once a year according to the old pattern, on the request of the health ministry. The Human Resources Development ministry announced the dates for exams that will select candidates for the country’s top engineering and medical colleges. The exams for JEE Main I, JEE Main II, CMAT and GPAT, NEET (UG), and UGC (NET) will be conducted by the National Testing Agency,
