Ammy Virk inaugurates Carnival Cinema at Daba Road | First Highway multiplex


Carnival Cinema is one of the leading national multiplex chains and is led by serial entrepreneur Dr. Shrikant Bhasi. However, India’s fastest growing multiplex chain is now in Ludhiana situated at Nirmal Palace at Daba Road (Ludhiana-Delhi Highway).

Kunal Sawhney, VP Operations, Carnival Cinemas inaugurated the event. Present along with him were Muklawa actors Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa inaugurated the latest multiplex in the city at a grand opening ceremony.

On this occasion, Kunal SawhneyVP Operations, Carnival Cinemas, said, This is our first multiplex in the city. However, owing to its location, this will be Ludhiana’s first Highway Multiplex. We are sure that our top-class hospitality, design, and technology will combine well to delight our patrons and strengthen our bonding with them. Additionally, we have some major development coming in Punjab ahead.


Carnival Cinemas houses three state-of-the-art screens with a total seating capacity of 538. Furthermore, it is equipped with world class 2K Digital Projection Technology, Dolby Atmos sound, and high luminosity 3D screens. Also, it has lavish interiors, luxurious seating arrangements and the best-in-class services delivering a stunning cinematic experience.


With its rapid expansion across India, Carnival Cinemas continues to be India’s fastest growing multiplex chain. Surprisingly, now it has become the first ever cinema group to reach a remarkable milestone of being present in 111 cities across India.

However, Carnival Cinemas is now spread across 20 states with over 150 properties and 450 plus screens in the country with lavish interiors, luxurious seating arrangements, a wide selection of F&B and the best-in-class services at affordable prices.

Carnival Cinemas entertains over 50 million patrons annually and has a total seating capacity of over 1,25,000.

Moreover, after foraying into the overseas market with the commencement of operations in 6 screens in Singapore last year, Carnival has strengthened its international presence with the acquisition of Qatar based Novo Cinemas’ 104 screens at 10 locations in UAE and Bahrain recently and 50 more screens will be added to them soon.

In sync with the current growth plans, Carnival Cinemas has signed MoU with Governments of Jharkhand and Odisha in order to set up 75 theatres-cum-recreation zones and 150 screens in the respective states.

In addition, this will enable the Group’s vision of holding 1000 screens by 2020 in India, each one providing a state-of-the-art movie experience and premium service standard.
