The Hush Post: Italian actress and singer Asia Argento used her moment on stage At Cannes Film Festival.

She said that at age 21 she was raped by the famous American film producer Harvey Weinstein the maker of Sex, Lies and Videotapes.

For the Indians who mentally stay at a lot of distance from Hollywood movies, Weinstein is some kind of a Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim of the Hollywood. He has accusations of rape and molestation by top-notch actresses. Some of them are Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Gwyneth Paltrow, Mimi Haleyi, Brit Marling among others.

There are more than 80 women who have made allegations of rape and sexual harassment against Weinstein. The allegations triggered the “#MeToo” social media campaign and many similar sexual abuse allegations against and dismissals of powerful men around the world, called the Weinstein Effect.

Weinstein performed oral sex on her even as she kept saying no. In fact, Weinstein had a kingdom which had all his guards, his staff members, assistants finding ways and means to satisfy their boss and ensure he has good forced sex.

Meanwhile, Argento said that Cannes was his favourite hunting ground.

“In 1997, I was raped by Harvey Weinstein here at Cannes,” she said. “I was 21 years old. This festival was his hunting ground. I want to make a prediction. Harvey Weinstein will never be welcomed here ever again. He will live in disgrace, shunned by a film community that embraced him and covered up for his crimes.”

Cannes has been facing criticism for lack of firm response to the #MeToo movement.

Argento’s went to the extent of saying: “And even tonight, sitting among you, there are those who still have to be held accountable for their conduct against women. For behaviour that does not belong in this industry, does not belong in any industry or any workplace.”

“You know who you are. You do not belong in this industry. But most importantly, we know who you are, and we’re not going to allow you to get away with it any longer.”

Weinstein has repeatedly said that all sexual acts he had were consensual.
