The Hush Post: Shilpa Shinde was declared the winner of Bigg Boss season 11 on Sunday night, but the twitterati had hours before indicated her as the winner. How did the twitterati know she is the winner is a big question, though popular word is she played it clean. Even before Salman Khan-hosted show had started its telecast, her possible win had become a top trend through Sunday. Bigg Boss 11 grand finale began with Shilpa Shinde, Hina Khan, Vikas Gupta and Puneesh Sharma, with only Shilpa and Hina left on the stage.
Shilpa and Vikas Gupta’s legendary fights which carried over from their ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain’ legal tangle, Shilpa began in the show on a strong note. She won friends with her culinary skills but less participation in tasks was an irritant for other housemates.
Shilpa started her career almost 18 years ago on Indian TV. She hails from a middle-class Dalit Marathi-Hindu family in Mumbai. Her father was an advocate and mother is a homemaker.
In 2007, she did a serial called Maayka, during the course of which she was in a serious relationship with her co-star Romit Raj. She was to tie the knot in Goa, but the marriage was called off at the last moment due to Shilpa’s issues with Ronit’s family.
Shilpa always wanted to be an actress, but her family was against it. Despite that, she started her career with Marathi and Telugu films but didn’t succeed. Therefore, she decided to do TV serials, and in 2002, she played her first role in a negative character in the serial Bhabhi.
Though she did many serials until 2014, the fame was still missing. In 2015, she played the role of Angoori Bhabhi in Sony’s comedy serial Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai, after which she got recognition with her catchphrases, such as – “Sahi Pakde Hain”, “Ladoo Ke Bhaiya”, “Haye Daiya”, and her character-driven poor English speaking skills.
