The Hush Post: Actor Sonam Kapoor and longtime boyfriend and businessman Anand Ahuja are gearing up for their wedding later this week. Sonam has expressed her intent on not going in for a lavish and the typical big fat Indian Punjabi wedding. She thinks ‘there is too much money spent; it’s all very crass,’ as said in her interview to a Middle East daily. One such step towards non-extravagance is the couple’s decision to send e-invitations to the near and dear ones to avoid wastage of paper, if media reports are to be believed.
The customised invitations will have the names of guests embossed on it. The e-card is spread along two pages with one green and other in beige colour. To ensure no one gate-crashes, stickers are also being sent out. Guests will have to flash the invites on phones for entry. The dress code for the guests is Indian wear and white would be the colour for the day.
The wedding ceremonies are expected to kickstart from May 7. Filmfare magazine has reported that Sonam’s mehendi ceremony will be held at her maternal aunt Kavita Singh’s mansion at Mumbai’s Bandra, as it is the most favoured venue for family weddings in the Kapoor family.
Late actor Sridevi’s daughter and Sonam’s first cousin Janhvi Kapoor will be dancing on the tunes of Sridevi’s hit numbers Mere Haathon Mein Nau Nau Chudiyaan Re and Kisi Ke Haath Na Aaegi Ye Ladki at her wedding sangeet, Bollywoodlife.com has reported.
Farah Khan has been busy choreographing dances for the wedding sangeet in which Arjun Kapoor, Karan Johar, Ranbir Kapoor and many others participating in the sangeet ceremony.
