The former lovers came faced each other after a long gap of 21 years on the sets of Abhishek Varman’s ‘Kalank’
The Hush Post: Once touted to be the most talked about lovebirds of Bollywood, “Khalnayak” Sanjay Dutt and “Dhak Dhak Girl” Madhuri Dixit came face-to-face after a long gap of 21 years.
Notably, in the 90s when Subhash Ghai’s blockbuster movie “Khalnayak” came, there were talks of the romance between Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit and speculations were on that they would get married. But they could not get married for the reasons best known to them only.
A report said that the biopic on Sanjay Dutt, ‘Sanju’, starring Ranbir Kapoor, was termed dishonest, as it conveniently ignored several important, some controversial chapters, of his life.
Some of the viewers expected and probably had gone to the theatres to know a bit about some of his controversial affairs with actresses, among other women. The most sensational of the lot, with Madhuri Dixit, now Dixit-Nene, ended reportedly when Sanjay Dutt got embroiled for possession of arms during the 1993 Bombay blasts, the report said.
With “Sanju” the alleged affair came to the fore again, with reports of Karishma Tanna’s character earlier being based on Madhuri going on for long, before it turned out to be false, it was reported.
Another reason is the two former co-stars have agreed to be a part of the same film, Karan Johar’s production, ‘Kalank,’ 21 years after ‘Mahaanta’ their last movie together.
Murmurs have been on whether the two will share screen space in the film, which has a massive star cast also including Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur. Contrary reports on them having scenes together have surfaced considering their past. And the truth has finally been revealed, Sanju and Madhuri have scenes together in the drama for which they recently shot together, a report in Mumbai Mirror claims.
So what happened when the two came face-to-face during the shoot?
Interestingly, there was no awkwardness or hiccups as the actors completed the task at hand like thorough professionals.
“Sanjay and Madhuri shot a couple of dramatic sequences together over three days with co-stars Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. While Varun’s portions were wrapped up in two days, Alia was present on the set for a day after which she headed to Bulgaira to resume work with Ranbir Kapoor on Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra,’” the tabloid quoted a source as saying.
While Sanju reportedly essays the role of a king, Madhuri plays a courtesan in the film and we’re likely to have a ‘Maar Daala’-like track as well.
“Next up, Madhuri is scheduled to shoot her grand mujra song, choreographed by Saroj Khan and Remo D’souza, from September 5 to 7, while Sanjay is yet to wrap up his portions as well. All major scenes will be completed by the month-end,” the source was further quoted as saying.
Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit have done films like ‘Thaanedaar’, ‘Khalnayak’ and ‘Saajan’, ‘Mahanata’ etc together.
