A railway court has charged Bollywood actress Karishma Kapoor and actor turned politician Sunny Deol for allegedly pulling the chain of a train in the year 1997.

According to the reports, both the actors are accused of illegally pulling the chain of the train 2413-A Uplink Express while shooting for a film. The actors were reportedly shooting for movie ‘Bajrang’ near Phulera in Ajmer district of Rajasthan.

AK Jain, the counsel of Karishma Kapoor and Sunny Deol said that the actors had challenged the order in a Session court on Wednesday. He also informed that initially, the charges against them were read out in the year 2009. However, they challenged them in a session court in April 2010.

Both of them were exonerated by the session court but on September 17, the railway court again framed the charges against them. Stuntman Satish Shah and Tinu Verma were also accused in the same case but they did not challenge the charges in the court in 2010.

The next hearing of the case is scheduled on September 24. Assistant station master Sitaram Malakar filed a complaint with the General Railway Police. The actors were accused of violating section 141 (needlessly interfering with the means of communication in a train), section 147 (trespass and refusal to desist from trespass), section 145 (nuisance or drunkenness) and section 146 (obstructing a railway servant in his duties) of the Railway Act.
