The Hush Post: Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah actor Kavi Kumar Azaad passed away on Monday morning. He was 44 years old.
Kavi Kumar Azaad portrayed Dr Hansraj Hathi in the popular TV series ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. He died of cardiac arrest.
As per reports, Kavi Kumar was unwell for the past few days. The actor suffered a heart attack at a Mumbai hospital. He breathed his last this morning at Mira Road Wockhardt Hospital. This was confirmed by show’s producer Asit Kumarr Modi.
“He was an amazing actor and a very positive person. He truly loved the show and always came for the shoots, even if he was not feeling well,” Modi said.
“He called today morning that he is not well and will not be able to come for the shoot. And later, we got the news that he had passed away. We are all too numb to say anything,” Modi further added.
Dr Hathi has been the most iconic characters of the show, which has been at the top of TRP ratings for a very long time. Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is perhaps the only comedy show to find a place in the top 10’s list.
Earlier, Azaad had replaced actor Nirmal Soni as Dr Hathi, who played the role for a year since the show began in 2009.
