Love between Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh blossomed on the sets of their first film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Goliyon Ki Raas Leela-Ram Leela. A crew member on the film set disclosed this to Huffington Post. Love began with a passionate unscripted kiss during the shoot of the song Ang Laga De in Film City in 2012. The couple’s lips were locked even after Bhansali said ‘cut’. A crew of over 50 people watched it. The whole team of the movie knew that the couple was dating but the passionate kiss confirmed it.
“It was new love- euphoric and maddening. However, the couple was open about their relationship on the sets. “They’d call each other baby, eat together, and disappear into their vanity vans when not shooting,” the crew member told Huffington Post. They all thought that their romance would be over once the film gets finished.
The couple worked again in Bajirao Mastani, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film became a blockbuster. A crew member told the publication, “When I saw them during Bajirao Mastani, that’s when I knew, this is something that’s going to last.”
In an interview with Filmfare last year, Deepika said, “When we’re with each other, we don’t need anything or anyone else. We’re comfortable in each other’s presence. Sometimes it’s an intelligent conversation, sometimes just silence, sometimes there’s a childlike innocence. We keep each other grounded. We are good in that sense.”
After being in a relationship for six years, the couple will get married in two separate ceremonies today at Lake Como, Italy.
