Facing people’s ire for performing in Pakistan, Singer Mika Singh has finally spoken up. In an attempt to cool down the tempers, Mika has uploaded a video of him chanting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram” in Attari.

Mika Singh is being heavily criticized for performing at a wedding in Karachi just days after India revoked the special status to Jammu & Kashmir under Article 370. Since then, he had maintained silence on the criticism he received. On Thursday, he shared a video of his return to India through the Attari border on social media.

The singer had crossed over on August 9, a day after his performance in Karachi. The wedding is reported to be of the daughter of a billionaire apparently close to former president Gen Pervez Musharraf.

“Bharat Mata ki Jai! Thank you everyone for such a warm welcome. Happy Independence Day once again and salute to our jawans. They aren’t able to celebrate any festival, all to make our lives better. Jai hind,” Mika captioned the video.

The All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) and the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has already banned Mika.
