An event titled “Purity and Expression” featuring Sunny Leone did not go well with the Pro-Kannada activists. The activists staged a protest on Tuesday demanding a ban on the show of porn star-turned-Bollywood actress, a report said.

An organisation is holding the “Purity and Expression” event on November 3 in Bengaluru. Former porn star Sunny Leone is the main attraction of the show, the report mentions.

The pro-Kannada activists are not happy with the event with a Purity title and an ex-porn star as its key feature. The activists are saying it is against the Kannada culture, the report said.

Time Creations will hold the event “Purity and Expression” at the Manyata Tech Park in Bengaluru.

Members of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike Yuva Sene (KRVYS) burnt an effigy of the former porn star.

“We staged a demonstration against the event… It’s not just about the show here. There is much more to it. The actress is going to play the lead role in a period film based on a woman warrior from South India,” said K Harish, president of KRVYS.

“How can an actress like her be allowed to portray the legendary woman worshipped by everyone?” Harish said.
