The latest victim of piracy, Rajinikanth’s film has opened to good reviews and excellent response from movie buffs
The Hush Post: Released on Thursday, Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth’s new film Kaala got leaked online o the same day, thus becoming the latest victim of piracy. The full movie is available online on torrent sites in different qualities.
Within hours of the much-awaited Tamil movie screening its first show in the international centres, notorious sites like TamilRockers uploaded the movie online on their site. This movie leak is likely to take a toll on the movie’s box office collections, a report said.
The Tamil movie “Kaala” had its premiere in Singapore, US and some other foreign countries on June 6, Wednesday evening. The first blow was when the full movie directed by Pa Ranjith was streamed live on Facebook from a theatre in Singapore. The authorities immediately arrested Praveen Thevar immediately, the report said.
The overenthusiastic Rajinikanth fans kept sharing the clips from the movie. But the measures are not enough, the complete movie is now available for “free downloading” on a few torrents. The leak of the new film is likely to affect its business. Moreover, Kaala is yet to be released in Karnataka and cinegoers might prefer watching it illegally instead of waiting till the issues are resolved, the report said.
Meanwhile, the Rajinikanth-starrer “Kaala” has opened largely to positive reviews from the audience and critics. The good word-of-mouth is expected to boost the movie’s collection in the days to come, it was reported.
Kollywood, like other language film industries, has been badly affected by piracy. Although Vishal, the president of Tamil Film Producers’ Council and secretary of Nadigar Sangam, took various measures, it has failed to end the piracy, the report said.
Notably, almost every new big movie is getting leaked online within a day of its release these days, the report said.
