Sridevi had died in February this year. The biopic of NT Rama Rao is one of the most talked about projects in the Telugu film industry. It is due to its ensemble star cast and the interesting life of NT Rama Rao, a report said.
The movie stars Nandamuri Balakrishna as N.T.R and Vidya Balan as Basavatarakam, his first wife. Rana Daggubati who is best known as Bhallaladeva from Baahubali plays the role of Nara Chandrababu Naidu in the film.
Chandrababu Naidu is one of the most influential chief ministers of Andhra Pradesh. Naidu is the son-in-law of NTR after marrying his daughter, Bhuvaneshwari. The biopic is directed by Krish who stepped in after Teja walked out from it, the report said.
And the latest update on the movie makes it even more exciting. The filmmakers have roped in Rakul Preet Singh to play late Sridevi who worked in about 14 movies with NTR. Sridevi and NTR’s popular movies include Rowdi Ramudu Konte Krishnudu (1980) and Vayyari Bhamalu Vagalamaari Bharthalu (1982).
It was very important to find the right actress to play Sridevi. And, it seems like the producers have found their fit.
Mid Day had quoted Producer Vishnu Induri was as saying that Rakul is their first choice. “We haven’t approached Sonakshi, Kangana or Shraddha. Rakul Preet Singh is our only choice as she’s popular in the South, especially in Telugu films. We have shot almost 30 per cent of the movie; Vidya has already shot for six days. We are working on Rakul’s dates for now.”
