The Hush Post: “Did Swara go out to buy popcorn,”asks Padmaavat star Deepika Padukone adding that she might not have read some of the disclaimers at the beginning of the film. Deepika added that the film should be seen in its totality, which lays stress on the strength, power and dignity of women.
Earlier, Swara Bhasker has found herself in the midst of controversy when she wrote an open letter to the director of Padmaavat Sanjay Leela Bhansali and questioned the practice of Jauhar in the film.
She had said that she felt like a ‘vagina-only.’ Moments after she said this, singer-cum-actress Sushitra Krishnamoorthy questioned Swara and said that it’s strange that someone who so effortlessly portrayed herself as a prostitute in a movie felt like a vagina after watching Padmaavat.
Meanwhile, Bhansali’s magnum opus has recorded the highest overseas weekend opening with a collection of over $11 million and has also crossed Rs 100 crore collection already in India.
