The Hush Post: Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag has posted an early review of Akshay Kumar’s upcoming movie “Gold” that is ready for August 15-release.
Former India opener Sehwag seemed to have watched the film in the weekend. Sharing a photo of himself with wife Aarti and two sons, with “Gold” star Akshay Sehwag posted: “Totally sold on watching Gold. Wonderful, inspiring film. Thank you, Akshay Kumar.”
In this movie, Akshay Kumar plays the role of a hockey coach Tapan Das, who trains India team to win its first gold medal as an Independent country in the 1948 Olympics. Akshay Kumar and the “Gold” team had reportedly screened the film for legendary hockey player Balbir Singh in Delhi on Sunday, a report said.

Notably, August 12 marked the 70th anniversary of free India’s first gold medal, which was won at the 1948 Olympics. Actor Akshay Kumar shared a special video on social media to celebrate 70 years of the iconic moment. “Celebrate 70 years of free India’s first Gold by knowing how it feels by the history makers themselves,” Akshay Kumar tweeted.
The video shows eminent sports personalities like Balbir Singh, Kapil Dev, Sachin Tendulkar, Abhinav Bindra and Sunil Chhetri.
Directed by Reema Kagti, “Gold” also stars a debutant Mouni Roy, Kunal Kapoor, Vineet Kumar Singh, Amit Sadh and Sunny Kaushal. The movie has prominently been filmed in the UK and India, the report said.
“Gold” is scheduled to release on the Independence Day, August 15. The movie is produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment.
Along with “Gold” John Abraham’s Satyameva Jayate will also be released on August 15.
