Hollywood actress Sharon Stone has acted in many movies, but she is known best for her role in the erotic thriller Basic Instinct. The bold actress recently participated in an event where she took the audience back to the nineties. The 61-year-old recreated her legendary leg-crossing scene from her 1992 hit.
Sharon Stone was attending the GQ Awards in Berlin. She recreated the iconic moment on stage as her 19-year-old son sat in the audience.
Basic Instinct made Sharon Stone a household name. She played bisexual killer Catherine Tramell. In one of the scenes in the movie, Stone uncrosses her legs during police interrogation to reveal she has no underwear on. This scene probably was a turning-point in her career.
At the GQ Awards, Stone paid homage to the career-defining scene as she accepted a Woman of the Year award.
While giving her acceptance speech Sharon Stone re-enacted that scene from the movie, which also starred Michael Douglas.
She said, “Some years ago I was sitting on a sound stage, and my director said, ‘Can you hand me your underpants because we’re seeing them in the scene and you shouldn’t have underpants on but we won’t see anything. I said, ‘sure’. I didn’t know this moment would change my life”.
At the #GQAwards, the incredible @sharonstone relives the moment, the gesture that changed her life forever. „We have every right to be powerful in whatever form of sexuality we choose to have – and no one is allowed to take that away from you.“ #sharonstone #metoo #basicinstinct pic.twitter.com/06loMSk3tY
