The alleged crime took place about a month back but the victim woman recently came to know about the uploading of the video on the social media and then she gave a complaint to the police of Mahila police station of Baran district, Hindustan Times reported on Saturday.

On the basis of victim woman’s complaint, the police have lodged an FIR against six persons under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the provisions of the IT Act but no arrest has been made so far in this connection.

The victim works as a labourer at a roadside dhaba in Kota district of Rajasthan. She had given a complaint to the police on March 5 against the six youths, the daily reported.

The victim said that around a month ago when she visited her in-laws’ family in Baran, one of the accused, Chetan Meena (21), who was also familiar to her, took her on his motorbike to an isolated place near Samaspura village in pretext of dropping her to her destination, the daily reported.

Later five more youths came there and took turns to rape her. The victim further alleged that the accused also filmed the crime on mobile. After that the accused left her near her in-laws’ place next day and threatened to eliminate her family if she disclosed the matter to others.

The victim’s statement would be recorded before a magistrate on Monday. Further investigation into the matter has been started.
