Man buried his ailing wife alive in North Goa on Wednesday. He buried his ailing wife at a construction site as he could not bear her medical expenses.
The accused stands arrested. The man buried his wife at a construction site of an irrigation canal here, police said on Friday.
Late on Wednesday night, in a fit of frustration, the accused took his wife to river canal construction site and buried her.
The police arrested 46-year-old Tukaram Shetgaonkar on Thursday for allegedly burying his ailing wife. 44-year-old Tanvi was buried at the construction site of Tillari irrigation project at Narvem village in Bicholim taluka.
Some labourers recovered the woman’s body. They recovered the body even as the accused tried to stop them from working where he had buried the victim on Wednesday.
The accused used to earn a living doing odd jobs. He reportedly killed his wife as he was unable to bear her medical expenses.
The Bicholim police has registered a case. A case under section 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence) of the IPC has been filed.
