The man contended that he was duped by the woman’s family, as he was not aware of her facial hair and manly voice before marriage
The Hush Post: In a strange incident, a man from Ahmedabad filed a petition in a family court seeking divorce from his wife on the grounds that she had a beard and a masculine voice. The court, however, turned down the plea.
In his petition before judge N M Karovadiya, the man contended that he was duped by the woman’s family, as he was not aware of her facial hair and manly voice before marriage.
‘Didn’t see her face as she was in a burqa’
The petition stated that when the man first met the woman, she was wearing a burqa (veil) and hence he didn’t see her face, and it would have been against the customs if he would have done so.
Responding to the petition, the wife said that due to some hormonal problems she had developed facial hair and they can be removed via medicinal treatment. She countered that her husband was using false pretexts for divorcing her because he wants to throw her out of the house.
