A pregnant woman was treated with brutality at Jalota Primary Health Centre in Banaskantha district of Gujarat. Rami Ben reached the health centre along with her mother-in-law on Friday, March 22 for delivery.

Instead of taking her to the labour room, the nurse asked her to stand upright holding the iron mesh. Rami Ben gave birth to a child standing right there. As per the media reports, the baby fell right there on the floor, though, the baby is believed to be safe.

The family of Rami Ben alleged that the nurse used her sari to clean the blood on the floor after the delivery. Also, Rami did not get any medical assistance from the health centre post-delivery. A media report further added that a large number of pregnant women were treated the way Rami Ben was treated.

However, the health centre denied the allegations. Monica Patel, a doctor at Jalota Health Centre said, “The hospital does not practice such things.”
