The Hush Post: A class IX schoolboy was found murdered at Shri Bharti School in Baranpura area. The class IX boy was found brutally stabbed to death in the washroom on Friday morning.
In the afternoon, some students went to the washroom and saw 14-year-old Dev Tadvi lying dead. It is believed that Dev, who joined the school just two days ago, may have been killed by a class X student.
Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) officials said the victim was stabbed more than 10 times with a sharp weapon and his throat was slit. He died due to excessive bleeding.
Police commissioner Manoj Sashidhar said, “We have got the CCTV footage that shows the suspect entering the washroom with the victim. We are trying to trace him. But the motive of such a gruesome murder is still unclear.”
“The classes of secondary section begin at 12 noon. When some students went to the washroom on the first floor at about 11.30 am, they found Dev lying in a pool of blood. Hearing their screams, our staff rushed there and called up the emergency services and the police,” said Surendra Singh, school principal.
Police have also found a school bag on the terrace of the temple adjacent to this building. “The bag, which probably belongs to the suspects, had two sharp weapons, including a chopper and a sickle besides knuckles and a bottle full of red chilly powder,” a senior Wadi police station official said.
Dev’s parents live in Anand and, he was admitted to the school since his previous school was up to class VIII. His father works at a small tea stall on Vadtal Road in Anand. He has a younger sister. As the family’s financial condition was very poor, his maternal uncle had brought him to Vadodara to stay with him and study.
Intriguingly, no one heard any shouts and scream for help. In fact, two classrooms that are located just beside the washroom also had full attendance.
