Gurugram executive, an IIT-ian and IIM pass-out, found hanging in house

The Hush Post: A 26-year-old business strategist was found hanging from a ceiling fan at his rented apartment at DLF 5 in Gurugram on Tuesday.

Mehul Priyadarshi was an engineering graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee, and did his Master of Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management(IIM), Lucknow. He was from the last batch. He belonged to Ranchi in Jharkhand and his parents stay there. 

According to the police, he joined a global consulting firm in Cyber City in June. He lived in a rented apartment on the sixth floor at Princeton Estate, DLF 5, with two roommates who were also his batch mates from IIM.

Police said his roommates, who belonged to Nagpur and Bhatinda, were away for Raksha Bandhan celebrations and returned on Monday evening, according to The Hindustan Times. “They knocked the door but he did not respond, following which they went to their respective rooms and fell asleep. On Tuesday morning, they once again knocked on his door. When he did not respond, they became suspicious. They alerted the security guards, who broke open the gate and found him hanging from the ceiling fan with a bedsheet,” Vikas Kaushik, inspector, Sector 53 police station said. The security supervisor informed the police about the incident.

No suicide note has been found in his apartment. His mobile phone and laptop were found to be locked.
