BJP’s Krishan Midha wins Jind bypolls by 12,935 votes, Digvijay Chautala second with 37,631 votes

Bharatiya Janta Party’s Krishan Midha won the Jind Vidhan Sabha bypolls by a margin of 12,935 votes.

Midha polled a total of 50,566 votes followed by Digvijay Singh Chautala, the independent candidate backed by Jannayak Janta Party. Digvijay polled 37, 631 votes. Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala polled 22,740 votes. Vinod Asshri of LSP got 13,582 votes while Umaid Singh Redu of Indian National Lok Dal received 3,454 votes.

While BJP may have won the elections, JJP backed candidate Chautala came up as a strong contender and stood at the second position. Chautala said that he expected close to 45,000 votes but is satisfied with the number of votes he received given that his party is just a few days old and still got more than 37,000 votes.
