The bodies were hanging from ceiling fans in two different rooms. The incident came to light after a caretaker raised an alarm about foul smell emanating from their flat.

The neighbours told The Hindustan Times that they had lost their parents recently. Both parents had retired as Haryana government employees. Their father died six months ago, while the mother died about two months back.

Neighbours told the media they may have committed suicide because of poverty. One of the ladies had a kidney ailment and had to undergo dialysis. The neighbours also revealed that they had borrowed money from them.
