Incident took place in Apartment building in Gurugram’s DLF Phase 4
Lift was supposed to be changed four years ago, reports said
The Hush Post: Three people were seriously injured after an elevator they were travelling in, crashed 11 storeys in Gurugram on Tuesday morning. The incident took place in the Regency Park 2 apartments in Gurugram’s DLF Phase 4, which houses 500 flats, according to DLF’s website, said a report.
The elevator crashed from the 9th floor to the second level in the basement. There were three occupants in the elevator at that time – a woman who stayed in the building, her domestic help and driver, they have been hospitalized after the incident, it was reported.
The driver is said to be critical. The woman will need a knee-replacement surgery, say reports. A police case has been filed. “Investigation into the incident is underway,” Gurgaon Police PRO Ravinder Kumar said. The elevator, according to reports, was in poor condition.
Reports suggest the elevator was to be changed four years ago, but was postponed by a referendum organized by the residents of the lower floors of the building which is apparently 20 years old.
