Congress leader Kuldeep Bishnoi is all set to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The three-time MLA who currently represents Adampur in Hisar district of Haryana was reportedly unhappy with the Congress for quite some time.
Bishnoi was included in the Co-ordination committee of the Congress formed recently, but had skipped its first meet. He was reportedly opposed to Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s appointment as the head of the committee.
BJP could officially announce Kuldeep Bishnoi’s joining anytime soon. The BJP high command has given its go ahead to welcome Bishnoi into the party fold, reported News 18 Punjab, Haryana, Himachal.
Sources say the BJP might field Bishnoi from Hisar Lok Sabha constituency. Dushyant Chautala had won the seat on INLD ticket in 2014.
Kuldeep Bishnoi founded Haryana Janhit Congress – Bhajan Lal (HJC (BL)) in 2007 along with his father Ch. Bhajan Lal. He founded the party after he was ousted from the Indian National Congress as he had criticised the then Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
In 2009 Assembly elections his party won six seats but five of the MLAs defected to the Congress.
Bishnoi merged his HJC into the Congress post 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
