The incident was reported from Rohtak in a shared auto when a traffic policeman allegedly started harassing the girl by asking her to give her mobile number and become friends with him. Not only this, the traffic cop also allegedly started touching her inappropriately. But it was back luck of the cop as the girl happened to be a national-level karate player.

This incident took place on Thursday evening and was reported by The Times of India on Saturday. That time the cop and the girl were going in a shared autorickshaw. The girl was reportedly coming back from her Karate classes when the incident occurred.

The accused traffic cop was arrested and suspended after the girl lodged a complaint. The 21-year-old karate player said in her complaint that the traffic cop had sexually harassed her on her way home in a shared autorickshaw after her karate class on Thursday evening.

Narrating her ordeal, the karate player said the policeman, who wearing his uniform, sat next to her in the auto and started misbehaving with her. The girl said in her complaint the cop started asking for her mobile number saying he wanted to befriend her. When she refused to talk to him, the accused policeman started touching her inappropriately.

The report said that when he did not stop and continued bothering her, the girl showed him her karate skills of self-defence and asked the auto-driver to take the auto to the women police station. The karate player alleged that the senior female police personnel did not help her and instead said that she would “rebuke” the constable, the report said.

An FIR was lodged in this regard only after the matter came to the notice of Rohtak SP Pankaj Nain. Subsequently the erring woman cop was transferred to the Police Lines. “A case under relevant provisions has been registered against the constable, Yaseen, for harassing the woman in the auto-rickshaw. He has been placed under suspension and arrested,” DSP (City), Rohtak, Ramesh Kumar was quoted as saying.
