Former Haryana CM Hooda granted bail in Manesar land scam case

The Hush Post: Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder singh Hooda has been granted bail in the Manesaar land scam case.

Today he presented himself in the CBI court at Panchkula.

Many former Haryana and Punjab ministers and senior leaders of the party were present as a show of support to the CM. The other accuseds have already been granted bail in the case earlier.

Hooda could not appear earlier in the case owing to medical condition — raised sugar level and a fracture.

Earlier, taking cognisance of the chargesheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), a special CBI court had summoned former Haryana CM Hooda and his two former principal secretaries — Murari Lal Tayal and Chattar Singh — apart from former director of the town and country planning department SS Dhillon.

The Rs 1,500-crore alleged fraud pertains to misuse of the Land Acquisition Act. The CBI in its challan on February 2, had charged Hooda, and his aides and reality firms with criminal conspiracy and fraud.
