TOI journalist Damini Goyal assaulted, car stolen at gunpoint in Panchkula

A Times Of India journalist was assaulted and her car was snatched at gunpoint yesterday at Sector 11-15 junction in Panchkula.

Damini Goyal was on her way home from her office after a late night shift when at about 12:00 midnight a Tata Indigo with three men inside hit her i20 car from behind. Damini got down not realising what was in store for her. The moment she got out of her car, three men alighted from the Tata Indigo two of them pointed a gun at her pushed her and snatch the car keys. A complaint has been registered with the police. The cops say that a gang is operating in the region. Though, most of the gang members of this gang have been arrested some of them are still at large.

Damini is a sub-editor and had joined The Times of India about three months ago.

Notably, about a fortnight ago, another journalist, Prince Dhanta was also assaulted and his car snatched at knifepoint in Mohali. Prince works for The Hindustan Times. His car is yet to be recovered.
