The Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday carried out a raid at the residence of former chief minister of Haryana Bhupinder Singh Hooda. The raid was reportedly in connection with irregularities in land allotments in Gurugram.
The raid began at 8:30 am at the Congress leader’s Model Town residence in Rohtak in the morning and is still underway. BS Hooda was present inside the house when the CBI sleuths arrived.
The raids are also taking place at Hooda’s Delhi residence and at the residences of 28 other people who are connected to the alleged irregularity in the land allotments in Gurugram.
The investigative agency is simultaneously carrying out raids at more than 30 places in Delhi and nearby areas in connection with the alleged land scam.
The raids take place just weeks after Hooda was granted bail by a CBI court in Panchkula in a case pertaining to alleged illegal re-allotment of land to Associated Journals Ltd (AJL) in 2005.
Of late, Hooda has been campaigning for Randeep Surjewala in Jind for the last few days for the crucial by-poll which will be held on January 28.
