Most of us remember Tej Bahadur Yadav, the Border Security Force (BSF) jawan who had triggered outrage across India in 2017 after posting videos on sub-standard food given to soldiers. His son Rohit was found dead on Wednesday night amid mysterious circumstances.
Rohit’s body was found at his residence in Rewari, Haryana. His father was away to attend the Kumbh mela.
“We received a call that Rohit has committed suicide,” a police official told ANI. The room was locked from inside. The body was lying on the bed. There was a pistol in his hands.
Tej Bahadur Yadav had sparked a row in 2017. He had posted four separate videos on the social media complaining about the sub-standard food given to BSF jawans. He was located at a camp along the Indo-Pakistan border in Jammu and Kashmir.
However, the BSF had dismissed his allegations. Yadav was also dismissed from service after a thorough internal inquiry.
Justifying his action, Yadav had then said, “The Prime Minister had said so (eradication of corruption)…I was doing the same. Is this (inquiry) what I should be getting in return?”
