Since Cancer is a combination of various diseases, the symptoms might vary and can be of any kind. These symptoms cannot briefly tell that the patient is having Cancer.

Following is the list of some common signs of cancer those might help you to detect the disease in your patient.

Rapid Weight Loss

If you are losing your weight without even trying, it can be a sign of cancer. As the American Cancer Society recommends, the same occurs in the case of lung cancer and stomach cancer.


If you feel tired despite having a proper diet, sleep and rest, then it can be a sign of cancer. This fatigue can be a sign of stomach cancer, colon cancer and leukaemia.


Frequent and constant coughing is a symptom of lung cancer. If you have been coughing for months and weeks, you should contact the doctor as soon as possible. Moreover, hoarseness in the throat can be a sign of cancer of thyroid gland.


High fever can be a sign of cancer. The infections make it difficult for the body to fight with other diseases also. Frequent high fever can be a sign of lymphoma and leukaemia.

Body ache

Constant pain in different parts of the body, especially the bones, is a symptom of cancer. Moreover, severe headache can lead to a brain tumor.

Changes in the skin

If there is a freckle or mole on your skin which is constantly growing and changing color, it can be a sign of skin cancer. Other symptoms of the same are excessive hair growth, darkening of the skin and itching.

Unusual bleeding

If you bleed while coughing, it can be a sign of lung cancer. Also, dark stool, blood in the stool can be a sign of colon cancer. Other than this, abnormal vaginal bleeding can lead to cervical cancer.  Also, blood in urine can be a sign of cancer in kidneys.

Changes in the excretory system of the body

Changes in stool color, size of the stool, long-term constipation and diarrhea can be signs of rectal cancer. Also, if you experience some pain during urination, it may be a sign of prostate cancer.


Red and thickened skin near the breast area can be a sign of breast cancer. It can also cause lumps which can be felt on the skin.
