RS 2000 FINE ON DHABA OWNERS FOR THROWING FOOD LEFT IN THEIR KITCHENS IN THE OPEN SPACES IN CHANDIGARH

The Hush Post: As a pre-emptory step before the commencement of its health and sanitation campaign- 2018, the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation has warned dhaba owners against throwing their food or any other waste in the city’s open spaces. A fine of Rs 2000 would be charged from dhaba owners for littering the city with food waste. Various MC teams are taking rounds of different sectors to keep a check on the offenders. A dhaba worker was caught red-handed throwing something in the open space after he alighted from a three-wheeler on the sector 24-25 dividing road. When he was questioned he revealed that he had thrown uncooked waste meat pieces and waste food left in the dhaba. He was fined Rs 2000 on the spot.
