Instead of helping the accident-hit dying victims, Rajasthan man opted to capture the moment on his mobile phone’s camera
The Hush Post: In an incident that highlights the height of insensitivity, a man clicked selfies with three persons who had got critically injured and were dying. Instead of helping the accident victims, who later succumbed to their injuries, the man opted to capture the moment on his mobile phone’s camera.
The insensitive incident was reported from the Barmer district of Rajasthan. Not only this man, several other onlookers were present on the accident site but no one tried to help the accident victims, a report said.
The police said that had the people present on the occasion helped the accident victims, they would have been saved.
As per the sociologists, selfie obsession is a mental condition. Besides, the selfie obsession often leads to several accidents.
The Centre had reportedly asked the state governments in April this year to identify tourist spots where accidents occur frequently when people take selfies, following reports of several such incidents, it was reported.
Replying to a question in the Lok Sabha, Union Minister of State for Home Hansraj Gangaram Ahir had reportedly said that safety provisions for tourists, including precautionary measures to prevent any untoward incident such as declaring “No-Selfie Zones” at popular tourist sites were the primary responsibility of the state governments and Union territory administrations, the report said.
