An earthquake measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale shook Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh on Thursday afternoon. The officials reportedly said that there were no reports of any damage or casualty.
The metrological department reportedly informed that the epicentre of the earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometre north-east of Mandi and the tremors were felt at 12:44 pm.
According to the reports, Himachal Pradesh is prone to earthquakes and different parts of the state fall under seismic zone five.
On Tuesday also, an earthquake measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale had hit Chamba district. In 1905, a devastating earthquake with 7.8 magnitude hit the Kangra district which killed more than 20,000 people.
