A major fire broke out in Nalagarh at 6:00 am today.
The fire engulfed two factory units — Surya and Jindal. The fire broke out at about 5:00 am and till the filing of this report the fire could not be controlled. There was no loss of life. Though, property worth crores may have been destroyed.
The fire broke out due to short circuit, according to the locals.
The fire broke out in one factory and then soon engulfed another one. One of the factories manufacture plastic products due to which the fire quickly bellowed skywards. The other factory unit produces oil.
The fire brigade reached the site soon after the incident was reported. There is no word on whether the NOC had been procured by the two factories.
There are about 4,500 industrial units in Baddi and Nalagarh. Most of them do not get NOCs from the fire department except for once when the factory units are initially set up.
