Snow in higher reaches of Himachal, rain in lower parts

The Hush Post: It’s May and there has been fresh snow in the higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh. The lower plains of Himachal Pradesh also experienced rainfall.

The Metereological Department has also warned of more rains and snow accompanied with hailstorms and winds in the state in the ongoing week.
The capital town of Shimla received rainfall, however, the high reaches of the town received snow as did Kullu, Kinnaur, Lahaul-Spiti district, according to a Met official.
Chamba experienced 14 mm of rain, while Manali saw 7.2 mm rain and there was 6.2 mm drizzle in Dharamsala and the surrounding areas.
The headquarters of Lahaul-Spiti Keylong saw 3 cm of snow. The minimum temperature at Keylong was minus 2.9 degree Celsius.
The official said there are chances of heavy rainfall at some places in the state till Wednesday.
Kalpa in Kinnaur district, which saw 3.2 mm of rain recorded a low of 5.4 degree Celsius, while the temperature was 16.2 degrees in Dharamsala.
