The Hush Post: Ever since, the two-time former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal lost Vidhan Sabha elections, the talk that he could be appointed as a Governor is doing the rounds. This, also given that he is approaching his 75 years in another two years.
However, the former chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, Prem Kumar Dhumal has said that the talk regarding the party offering me a position of a Governor is false and also people spreading rumours that the RSS workers worked against me during the elections is also baseless. He clarified that the party had given him a lot in terms of respect and recognition and that he owed it back.
However, sources say, Dhumal’s saying that he could be offered Governor’s post is a false story is only false to the extent that he doesn’t want to go and not the other way round which is that the party does not want to eject him out of electoral politics.
Dhumal recently lost the Vidhan Sabha elections to Rajinder Rana by a margin of 1919 votes from Sujjanpur, which many say, he wasn’t too happy to fight against Rana from this seat given Rana’s popularity in the constituency.
Dhumal is a two time chief minister of Himachal Pradesh. He was first made the CM first in 1998 and 10 years later in 2007. Sources say Dhumal, however, has been assured a seat in the Rajya Sabha by the BJP at an appropriate time.
