After Aazam Khan, Himachal Pradesh BJP chief Satpal Satti hit a new low in politics. He recalled the use of M-word (an expletive) by a Facebook user on Rahul Gandhi.

And Satti took a jibe at the Congress supremo as if endorsing the use of M-word on him. The Facebook user used the word after Rahul Gandhi said: “Chowkidar chor hai,” something Rahul has been freely using in his speeches against the NDA government and PM Narendra Modi.

Satti said that if Mr Gandhi can call Prime Minister Narendra Modi — who refers to himself as India’s chowkidar (watchman) — a thief, he is also free to abuse him. “Rahul Gandhi is out on bail, his mother is out on bail, his brother-in-law is out on bail, and yet he calls the Prime Minister a thief.” He went on to say, a Punjabi man asked me to convey this to you with a heavy heart, and that inspires me to tell you this. If PM Modi is a thief, then you are a m********,” he was heard saying in a video widely circulated on social media as per a report.

The incident took place Satti was addressing a gathering in Nalagarh. While many leaders from the BJP have said that Satti should have been more careful in choosing his words, there has been no apology yet.

Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri said that the political discourse has reached a new low with Satti’s outburst. Speaking to News 18, he said this is something which can’t be exclaimed in public and Satti should immediately apologise.

Apart from this, on Sunday veteran SP leader Aazam Khan made an “underwear’’ remark, which the BJP said was made against actor Jaya Prada, fighting the Lok Sabha polls from Rampur against him.

Without naming the veteran actress and BJP leader, who is fighting as its candidate from Rampur, Khan told the gathering in an election rally there’’… you got represented (by her) for 10 years. (aapne das saal apna pratinidhitwa karwaya).”

“People of Rampur, people of Uttar Pradesh and people of India, it took you 17 years to understand her reality. But, I could recognise it in 17 days that she wears a khaki underwear. (Rampur waalo, Uttar Pradesh waalo, Hindustan waalo, usski asliyat samajhne mein aapko 17 baras lag gaye. Main 17 dinon mein pehchaan gaya ki inke neeche kaa jo underwear hai, woh khaki rang kaa hai),” said Khan.
