The Hush Post: In the continuing spell of heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh, three vehicles got completely buried under the debris that came with the torrential rains in Vikas Nagar area of Shimla on Monday night.
According to news reports, a retaining wall of an under-construction park collapsed while the cars were parked nearby . The locals residing in the area complained that the construction work was being done by the private contractor despite heavy rains.
Meanwhile, a cloudburst occurred in Gaterh village on the Solan-Bhararighat highway. Four vehicles were submerged in the rubble that came with the overflowing nullah on National Highway 5. People from nearby places informed the police PCR and the administration pressed into service. There was water all around and complete chaos prevailed as people had a difficult time managing their way and pulling out their vehicles.No loss of life was reported in both the incidents though it wreaked havoc on the commuters.
Cloudbursts have become a common phenomenon with cloudbursts happening twice in Manali. Vehicles were stuck and submerged in the muck.
