The Hush Post: Reports of major financial irregularities have surfaced at the Alakh Prakash Goyal (APG) University in Shimla. The University is alleged to have indulged in money laundering and converting large sums of black money into white during demonetisation, reported News 18.
It is reported that more than 100 staff of the University were paid their salaries in the banned currency during demonetisation. A three-member team from the Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) had inspected the university last week and has come up with these findings. The report has been submitted to the Regulatory Commission and has recommended strict action against the institution.
The report also states that more than 90 per cent staff of the APG University is under qualified. The probe points to serious malpractices, including manipulation of documents related to the staff as well as foreign students and flouting of UGC norms.
