Four students of MBBS have been suspended from Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla. These four students have been suspended from college and hostel with immediate effect. The decision was taken by a committee comprising IGMC Principal Ravi Sharma and SDM Urban Neeraj Chandla.

The erring students have been suspended due to charges of ragging of the juniors. The management did not reveal the names of those who have been suspended, nor of those who were the alleged victims of ragging. However, they have referred the case for an inquiry by the police. There is also a video clip of the incident which went viral. Subsequently, through that video clip the incident was confirmed.

The incident took place during a freshers’ party, in which some of the seniors allegedly started abusing the juniors using choicest of expletives.

Meanwhile, the case has been referred to the police. The suspension of students was confirmed by the Principal of IGMC Ravi Sharma.
