The outrage that was witnessed in the Gudiya rape and murder case which led to burning up of the Kotkhai police station in Shimla district.

Shimla, The Hush Post: With quick developments happening in the Gudiya rape and murder case daily, the suspended Superintendent of Police DW Negi arrested in the Suraj custodial death case, was taken to the Delhi Headquarters of the CBI for further questioning on Friday. He will be questioned there and brought back to Shimla for his court hearing on Monday when his five-day remand ends. He is likely to be questioned regarding the custodial death of Suraj as well as the Gudiya murder and rape case. He was questioned till late in the night on Thursday, and taken to Delhi early Friday morning. Another police official was summoned at the Shimla branch of the CBI HQ and interrogated for a long time. A CBI team again visited the deceased Gudiya’s school in Kotkhai.  Negi was part of the SIT, formed by the Virbhadra government to look into the Gudiya case which was later disbanded, and had also camped in Kotkhai for two days when the murder had come to light.

While the CBI is inching closer to solve the mysterious rape case, the Himachal Pradesh CM in a statement said that the CBI has failed to solve the Gudiya rape case and has only managed a few arrests in the Suraj custodial death case. He further said that the CBI has changed the direction of the investigations in the case, in an informal interaction with the media while he was at IGMC Hospital for an eye-check up.

The application for taking the voice samples of the policemen will be taken up on Monday as their legal representatives were not present in court on Friday when the application was to be taken up. The judicial custody of the remaining eight other policemen including suspended Inspector General of Police  ZH Zaidi and then Theog  DSP Manoj Joshi has also been extended by four days. With 48 hours of his arrest ending today, DW Negi stands suspended according to rules of the Himachal government, which says, that if any government servant is arrested, he is suspended within 48 hours of his arrest. If the government does not take any action, he is considered suspended.
