The District administrations of Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu and Shimla have declared a two day holiday in schools, i.e on Feb 11 and Feb 12 due to heavy snowfall. Schools will reopen on February 13.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), has forecast more snowfall and rain at some places in mid and high hills of the state, while thundershowers in low hills and plains from February 12 to 15.
On Sunday, cloudy skies prevailed in most parts of the state. Manali and Kufri are experiencing biting cold at minus two and minus 0.5 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, Keylong continued to be the coldest place at minus 11.6 degrees Celsius. Whereas, the minimum temperature in Kalpa was minus 4.6 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature in Shimla was 2.5 degrees Celsius followed by Solan (2.4), Chail (2.3) and Dalhousie (1.2).
