Shimla water crisis: FIRs against 150 people in Shimla who were protesting water shortage

FIR registered against locals | CM takes serious note of the matter

The Hush Post:  Police registered FIR against more than 150 people; cases were registered against protesters at different places.

Case was also registered for protest outside CM’s official residence. And other cases were registered against 60 members of youth Congress. Cases were also registered against locals of Kusupati, Bikasnagar and Panthaghati.

On his return to Shimla, CM looked into the water distribution at his residence Oakover and officials gave information to CM. Today, Shimla’s Municipal Corporation got 37.63 MLD of water. The water was distributed at Krishna Nagar, Ram Bazar, Lower Bazar, Jakhoo, Benmore, Engine Ghar, Sanjauli Chowk, Dhali, Mashobra, Bhatta Kuffar, Shanti Bihar, Malyana and Shangti area.

Tankers distributed nearly 1.85 lakh liters of water in the city till now. Water will be distributed on 4 June, 2018 in Kasumpti, Panthaghati, Chotta Shimla, Vikas Nagar, Patiyog, Kangnadhar and New Shimla.  CM Jayram Thakur gave directions to officials. Water will be distributed as per the schedule. Directions were given to keep a check on the water leakage. 11 hand pumps will be installed in Shimla and surrounding areas.

Acute water shortage has been plaguing Shimla for the past 15 days now.
